SUPER TUESDAY
William Cordova
Untitled (an undying love for the people)
2007
spray enamel, collage on paper
LOOKS LIKE I'VE COMMITTED TO HOUSTON UNTIL MAY. YESTERDAY I ENROLLED IN A PRINTMAKING CLASS AT GLASSELL SCHOOL OF ART.
GROWING UP I TOOK CLASSES AT GLASSELL RANGING FROM *LIFE DRAWING* AND *PAINTING* TO *MAKING COMIC BOOKS* AND *MIXED MEDIA* FROM KINDERGARDEN TO HIGH SCHOOL. IT FELT GOOD TO BE BACK. FAMILIAR SMELLS.
I FORGOT TO FIGURE IN HOUSTON TRAFFIC AND GOT TO GLASSELL 15 MINUTES AFTER LATE REGISTRATION CLOSED, BUT JUST HAPPENED TO GET LET IN THE DOOR BY SUZANNE MANNS, THE INSTRUCTOR OF THE CLASS I WAS HOPING TO GET IN TO. "GOOD TIMING" SHE SAID AS SHE SMILED AND LED ME BACK IN TO ONE OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE ROOMS.
THE COURSE STARTS WITH ETCHING, COLLAGRAPH, LITHOGRAPHY, AND RELIEF LEADING IN TO A BROADER RANGE OF PRINTMAKING TECHNIQUES AND TO SAFER PHOTOSENSITIVE POSSIBILITIES INCLUDING PHOTOPOLYMERS WHICH IS WHAT I'M MOST EXCITED ABOUT.
CLASSES START 2 WEEKS FROM YESTERDAY AND ARE EVERY TUESDAY FROM 1-4 PM.
